Our Philosophy

At the Song Saa Reserve we do not believe that being ‘sustainable’ is sufficient. With ecosystems damaged and communities stressed we need to go ‘Beyond Sustainability’ to the rebuilding of natural and social connections. We also need to look at ways to inspire human wellness and creativity – designing places that revive and nurture. To accomplish this we focus on the regeneration and resilience of the Banteay Srei environment – rebuilding and making stronger what has been lost.

Striving to achieve Sustainable Development Goals

The Song Saa Reserve also recognises and promotes the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals, aligning our work with the focus of the seventeen goals, while seeking to go beyond there promise. This includes:

  • Addressing climate action in our work (SDG 13.)
  • Promoting good health, wellbeing and education (SDG 3. & 4.)
  • Creating sustainable cities and communities (SDG 11.)
  • Promoting decent work and economic growth (SDG 8.)
