Consideration of the impacts of climate change and measures to address its effects lay at the heart of the master planning of the Song Saa Reserve. This includes using the requirements under the Living Community Challenge to reduce the carbon footprint of the buildings and infrastructure that we construct on the site. Our environment restoration work, including the 1 – million tree programme and the restoration of Boeung Chhouk, will increase the capacity of reserve forests and wetlands to capture and retain carbon. Other practices, including the hiring of local staff and contractors, will be prioritised to reduce the levels of travel-generated carbon.
